Teen Killed in Sacramento Shooting, Investigation Underway | Colonial Manor cover

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) – A juvenile male has tragically lost his life following a shooting on the 7700 block of Marin Avenue on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Sacramento Police Department officers responded to the incident just after 2:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. They administered life-saving measures until the Sacramento Fire Department arrived on the scene. Despite efforts to save him, the young victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Sacramento Police Department's homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have taken over the case. They are actively processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until the next of kin can be notified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

In a media release, the Sacramento Police Department stated, “The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.”

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. “The Sacramento Police Department encourages any witnesses with information regarding this investigation to contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357),” the statement continued. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the “P3 Tips” smartphone app.
