RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. (PSN)— A fatal vehicle crash occurred Thursday afternoon on La Riviera Drive, leaving one person dead and two others hospitalized, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
Fire crews were dispatched around 2:09 p.m. to the 8700 block of La Riviera Drive, where they found a passenger vehicle overturned in the parking lot of a commercial complex. Three people were inside the vehicle.
Firefighters extricated two of the occupants, while a third was pronounced deceased at the scene. The surviving patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further evaluation. Their current conditions have not been released.
No other vehicles were involved, and damage was contained to the parking lot area. It has not yet been determined whether a medical emergency contributed to the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
