SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — Six people were injured in a hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning in Midtown, according to authorities. The crash occurred just after 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of P Street, near 20th and P streets.

Capt. Justin Sylvia, a spokesperson for the Sacramento Fire Department, said six victims were transported from the scene. Two were reported in critical condition and four were listed as stable. One person was ejected from a vehicle during the collision.

In a separate media release, Officer Anthony Gamble, spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department, said officers responded to reports of a crash involving a sedan and a van.

According to police, one person in the van was ejected but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the sedan fled on foot before officers arrived. Police conducted a hit-and-run investigation and generated a report. No arrest information was immediately available.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
