SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — Officers responding to overnight activity in Old Sacramento detained multiple individuals and temporarily shut down access to the area early Saturday following a series of incidents, according to police radio traffic.
Just after midnight, officers observed subjects with open containers and a foot pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended in the west end of the K Street tunnel, between Downtown Commons and Old Sacramento, where two individuals were detained, according to police radio reports.
As crowds grew and conditions became congested, officers closed entrances into Old Sacramento, preventing additional vehicles from entering the area.
Police continued monitoring the scene and conducted multiple vehicle stops. During one detention, a subject fought with officers, prompting additional units to respond with lights and sirens.
A firearm was located in the front seat of a vehicle during the incident, according to radio reports.
No official information on arrests, charges or injuries was immediately available.
