SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN)— A 16-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that left a juvenile male dead at Natomas High School, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Officers responded at approximately 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 10, to reports of a shooting in the 3300 block of Fong Ranch Road. Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers provided emergency medical aid until fire personnel arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators took over the investigation, processing the scene, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Authorities said the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
On the evening of April 13, detectives located and arrested a 16-year-old male believed to be responsible for the shooting. The suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall on multiple felony firearm-related charges.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after next of kin have been notified.
